Interview with a young one
Name?
Darryl Hutton
Position?
Goalkeeper
Have your ever played any other position and would you ever change your position?
I am really happy with playing as the goalie but I would love a game as a forward one day
How does it feel to have your good play ecognised and rewarded with player of the month?
It feels great, when you're training hard its great to see that it's being appreciated, and when you're giving it all in a match and turning up to every match rain or shine it's good to show people something for it.
Do you feel a lot of pressure due to your position?
It is great pressure in nets. I believe that the consequences are greater when you make a mistake in nets than anywhere else on the pitch, but whenever i make a good save then it feels good to know that you've kept your team in it.
What are your hopes and asperations for the next few years within East?
I hope to play good hockey and have fun, I also hope to have league
sucess in Junior Lague 5 this year and to get promoted, I also hope to encourage younger players to join, after all they are the future
of the club
What do you think of the youth setup within the club?
There is a great youth setup here at East, when I first came to East Antrim I knew it was going to be fun and when I knew other people my own age I settled in nicely. Steven Swann gives great training to all the younger players which has showed in matches against both Newry and Garvey, I just hope the recent results continue.
Do you have a rolemodel inside the club?
I have a couple of rolemodels within the club, but one of them has taught me a lot in
my two years at the club, Johnny Hamill is a great coach and his >training on Monday nights at Jordanstown has not only helped to keep me fit but have made me aware of how to save shots and progress into a better player. So I wish to take this opportunity to thank him for
all of his time and teachings.
Thank you very much Daryll and good luck for Saturday.
