ANOTHER YOUNGSTER SCOOPS OCTOBER AWARD

For the second month running, East Antrim Hockey Club have awarded their 2nd XI Player of the Month award to a schoolboy. An award to provide encouragement for the youngsters it is not, however.

Club Captain, David Caldwell, presented the October Player of the Month award to Scott Hamilton, a GCSE student from Belfast Royal Academy and had plenty to say about the youngster:

"Scott has a fantastic natural ability for the game and I can hardly wait to see how good a player he will become. His vision, positional sense and ball control are all top drawer for such a young lad."

2nd XI Captain, Stephen Swann, added: "Let's not forget his training attendance record, his attitude towards his own game and his team mates and enthusiasm and willingness to learn".

Scott isn't quite ready for the big time on the 1st XI yet, however, as he is quite content to continue to learn from some of the older heads he has at his disposal in Junior League 5.
