1st XI Captain loses the plot before a ball is hit...
Alan Burgess, newly installed 1st XI captain, has shown signs of madness after just 3 weeks in the job. Selecting his squad of players for Antrim Sixes duty, Alan turned to the old, greying, rotund cripple in the form of former skipper, Stephen Swann.
When interview, Burgess said: "I saw his performance against Down in the centenary match and it is exactly what we need - someone to lead the line in attack!"
Swann was more honest... "I scored two scrappy goals against second rate opposition in a friendly match. I'm 16 stone, turn like the HSS and have a knee that was put together by meccano. My fitness levels make Ian Paisley look like an athlete..."
To see how the squad perform, go along to the Antrim Forum, tonight, for a 7pm start.
