Match : 2nd XI v South Antrim 3rds Date : 2004-11-06 Venue : A Score : 0-1 Scorers :
By David Menaul East went to Laurelhill with one of the strongest squads the 2nds will be available to field all year. East started the game with great hope and determination that it was going to be our day. East had a couple of chances early on but like most of the season we failed in scoring. From here to the end of the half the game was pretty even with both teams having there share of pocession without actually creating any chances. Watters and Smith were rocks at the back with Bell loking very promising going forward. With 0-0 at half time Esat had a chat about keeping it tight for the next 15 minutes and trying to be a bit more skillfull in the final third, saly neither happened. East conceded in the first 10 mins through our usual silly mistakes when we lost the ball well inside South Antrims half, through the lack of determination to get back from Easts midfielders South Antrim managed to get players free in the circle.RESULT GOAL. A harsh lesson but one we our going to have to learn if we our going to compete in this league. East however showed some bouncebackability by creating more chances but through a lack of confidence we failed to score. East have now won only 2 games from 6 and if this is going to improve players are going to have to take reponsibilty and pride in their own performances. Thanks to Gemma for umpiring at late notice.
