East went into this game missing 3 key players but this did not stop the green machine taking all 3 points. However, the match was put in doubt when the umpires decided to call the game off stating that the pitch was flooded, Only to the amazement to both teams that when we all turned up that the pitch was in superb condition. East started the match cold and deservedly went 1-0 down to a dubious goal were the goalkeeper seemed to push the ball wide but the goal was given.East as usual responded to the early goal and started to build pressure of their own.Our midfielders started to drive forward and got their rewards when Leon Currie was on hand for a tap in after good work from Alan Burgess.East had a good chat at half time about what was expected of us after recent poor showings in the second half.We were still creating chances by the bucket full but more importantly we kept our concentration as a team when we defened.East got the winner when Neal Hermon was hand to strke the ball home.This was a real hard fought game where every East player showed the desire needed every week when playing for the red hand on the badge.East have a top of the table clash next week when they play Down at Ballysillan.
