Davy Menaul,our stand in goalie,must have thought summer had come and he was playing his other favourite sport as Annadale threatened to run up a cricket score against us.

After soaking up some early pressure and after two good saves Menaul was beaten by the first of many goals.I lost count but I reckon it was 7 (or thereabouts).We were completely overrun in the first half by a much superior team and by half time Annadale had rattled in 4 or 5 goals without reply.

In the second half,strengthened by the arrival of Neil Johnston, Stevie Nicholl and Neal Hermon (who had umpired the first half)we made much more of a game of it and eventually scored when Eddie Baird followed up a short corner and crashed the ball into the net.

Very few of us enhanced our reputations in this game but John Baker was great as an attacking sweeper and both McKennas showed up well.

Thanks are due to the guys who came across town and helped us out.
