We were beaten 2-0 by Down on Saturday. Quite a close game but their superior ability at hitting and stopping on gravel was the main difference.

We played alright and everybody's attitude was fine. There was a wee bit of controversy over one of their goals. It came from a short corner but I think the pushers feet were off the pitch or something plus when it came back to him it was in the air and they had two at back post - one called his ball but the other player went in front and smashed the ball home!

The umpires were from a different planet with some very strange decisions. They had a player from the sidelines sent off after about 10 mins and at end of the game the player told us that the umpire should have brought Down, down to ten men as he was on the teamsheet.

There were ploenty of things that we can take from the game and hopefully we will for the forthcoming fixture against Crossgar.
