We only had 10 players so Beak, who was at death's door, played to make up the numbers. Against a much stronger and experienced side the 3rd XI gave a 1st half performance second to none in holding the opposition to no score at half
time. This was largely due to outstanding defence starting with the forwards and ending with the keeper.

After the break South reinforced their team and their experience eventually paid off as they scored 5 goals without reply. The 5th was a freakish own goal and we will not count that!

Great credit is due to the team who continued to play hockey right to the end and kept their shape really well. Special mention should be made of
Gareth, George and Andrew who had great games.
